Tennis glamour couple Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter have been keeping a secret, dropping a massive update on social media.

'I want more' in 2025 says de Mianur

So it turns out, Aussie men’s No. 1 Alex de Minaur and fellow tennis star girlfriend Katie Boulter have been sitting on some huge personal news.

The glamour couple of the tennis circuit, who went social media official with their relationship back in March 2021, have regularly been the subject of engagement rumours and speculation.

It has finally come to light they have taken the next step in their relationship and may in fact have been engaged for some time.

Posting a gorgeous photo of themselves beaming and with Brit Boulter sporting a huge diamond on her ring finger, the post has the caption: “We’ve been keeping a small secret.”

There has quickly been an outpouring of love on social media, along with some cheeky ribbing from friends of the power couple.

The Australian Open’s official account tweeted: “Game, set, and engaged! Congrats, Katie and Alex.”

Fellow tennis pro Storm Sanders wrote on Instagram: “Amazing!! Congrats.”

Thanasi Kokkinakis also echoed the thoughts of some by writing: “About damn time.”

Boulter’s fellow Brit Emma Raducanu wrote: “Congrats!!”

Laura Robson offered: “You cutiesss. Best pre-season news ever.”

Aussie great Todd Woodbridge added: “Yes finally! So happy for both of you.”

It caps an incredible year for the couple.

The man known as “the Demon”, 25, is coming off his best season on the ATP Tour, cracking the top 10 for the first time and reaching the quarter-finals of the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.

Boulter, 28, also had a strong season and reached a career-high rank of No. 23 just last month.

The news comes after it emerged de Minaur and Boulter will likely spend December 31 bringing in the New Year together, but it’ll be a very different feeling the following day.

That’s because Australia will take on Great Britain in a match that could decide Group F at the United Cup.

The couple faced a similar scenario last year when they were put in the same group in Perth, and Boulter says she’s not “thrilled” at the idea of having to take on de Minaur again in a crucial event before the Australian Open.

Boulter won her singles match last year against Ajla Tomljanovic before de Minaur lost the singles, with bragging rights up for grabs once more on January 1 in Sydney.

“I wouldn’t say I was thrilled at the idea of playing him all over again,” she said on Monday while de Minaur trained on Ken Rosewall Arena behind her.

“He’s a top 10 player and he knows how to play tennis, so there’s one side of it. Then there’s the personal side of it which is difficult but also great for bragging rights.

“I’m looking forward to the match and I think it’s going to be a great atmosphere. Playing Australia is always going to be fun. We’re definitely going to be the underdogs so let’s put pressure on them.”

Australia’s top-ranked man won’t have to play Boulter in the mixed doubles but you could tell that he also wasn’t too excited about the impending awkwardness.

“I don’t know how to explain it. It’s almost surreal that it’s a whole year later and here we are again,” he said.

“It’s going to be interesting once again. Hopefully we can play some good tennis.”
