The Melbourne Storm are the first team to qualify for the 2024 NRL grand final after thrashing the Roosters 48-18 at AAMI Park.
Craig Bellamy’s team will now face the winner of the Panthers v Sharks match on Saturday night at Accor Stadium.
It was a clinical performance from Melbourne, with halfback Jahrome Hughes scoring a hat-trick and fullback Ryan Papanehuyzen and five-eighth Cameron Munster scoring doubles.

As if the pain couldn’t get any worse, Cameron Munster goes over for his second try in five minutes.
Cameron Munster joins the party, and scores right by the posts.
It started with a knock-on from Victor Radley, that gave Melbourne a fresh set right in front of the Roosters line, and the Storm were too strong for the defensive line.
That means Melbourne passes the 40-point mark.

We’re down to the final 10 minutes of this contest, and unless the Roosters can find something, and find it quick, Melbourne will be marching to the grand final.

Jahrome Hughes has a hat-trick, and now Ryan Papenhuyzen gets a double.
It was a smart flick back on the inside from Harry Grant to Papenhuyzen that got them over the line and fooled the Roosters defensive line.
