A new dumplings bar is set to open its doors in Perth's CBD, as one of the first tenants on the ground floor of the city's first high-rise student accommodation.
Small Talk, if given the green light by the the Liquor Licensing, will be one of nine food and beverage tenants within Campus Perth, at 80 Stirling Street.
The bar's owner, Jacquie Chan, known as Perth's 'dumpling queen', operates Miss Chow's in Claremont Quarter and Whitfords, and Rice Baby in Subiaco, which produce modern Asian style cuisine and have developed a reputation for their dumplings.
The new city venue would feature a lounge dining alfresco area, bar area and in-house bakery.
Its menu would include Dim Sum options, noodle and rice based dishes, Buddha bowls and Miss Chow's famous sticky beef ribs and spicy fried chicken.
Monday Madness Pty Ltd lodged an application for a liquor licence for the venue in February, proposing to also sell beer, wine, spirits and cocktails.
The application said it would seek to sell Tsingtao beer, a Chinese beer produced using spring water from a Chinese mountain famous for its water purity.
"This will result in the premises catering to a range of international visitors, who are seeking an authentic Asian dining experience in the Perth CBD, and those consumers who are eager to try some culturally diverse cuisine in a safe and professional environment," the application read.
Campus Perth, located at the old Telstra headquarters, provides accommodation for more than 500 students.
