Irish pubs can go a little ballistic on the Irish paraphernalia but Finnian's has got the balance right. Food-wise, head to the specials boards for the good stuff. Salt-and-pepper calamari was cooked perfectly but lacked salt or pepper. Grilled swordfish is simply amazing, smeared with a creamy sun-dried tomato and white wine sauce and propped on a large battered pumpkin risotto cake. A beef and Guinness pie is a rustic, hearty offering complete with a huge hunk of bread. The homemade white chocolate cheesecake is a creamy delight, though the raspberry coulis tasted a little bit like the supermarket variety.
