Just Open: Sadhana Kitchen, Bondi
Enmore Road's much-loved organic and raw foods cafe, Sadhana Kitchen, has opened a new store on Warners Avenue, Bondi Beach.
When Bills opened in Bondi, everyone was asking, "How did this cafe not exist here before now? It's such a perfect fit!" The same conversation is happening again, but this time we're talking cashew cheese and acai bowls instead of ricotta hotcakes.
Sadhana Kitchen, Enmore Road's much-loved organic and raw foods cafe, has opened a new store on Warners Avenue, Bondi Beach, at the light and breezy site once occupied by Nina's Ploy Thai.
"We always knew there was a demand for our food in the area," says Sadhana owner, Maz Valcorza. "We had a lot of customers from the Bondi bubble travelling all the way across town and telling us how much of a hassle it was. Now we can service the inner west and the east as well."
Sadhana Bondi will be similar to its Enmore counterpart by focusing on organic, plant-based wholefoods.
"We have a lot of raw treats and everything is gluten-free and refined sugar-free," says Valcorza. "The difference is that this place is twice the size and we're gearing up to open for a dinner service. We just need spend a little time finding our feet before we launch it."
The current menu is full of Sadhana favourites for breakfast and lunch, like the pitaya bowl of dragon fruit blended with frozen strawberries and banana, and served with fresh fruit and Sadhana's original blend granola (featuring buckwheat, goji berries, cacao nibs and shredded coconut); a long list of healthy smoothies for any occasion; and the Cheezeburger made with a nut-free vegan patty (also known as "neatloaf").
The house granola is also available to grab-and-go, as is coconut-based bacon and Valcorza's new cookbook, The Naked Vegan.
