TWO bikie gang members have been charged with firearms and guns offences following property searches at West Moonah.

Police have charged two members of the Outlaws motorcycle gang with a slew of drug and firearm offences, and COVID-19 breaches after searches yesterday morning.

Police pulled over a 53-year-old man and searched his vehicle in the early hours of yesterday, and subsequently his home, finding guns and drugs.

He was charged with drug trafficking and firearm offences and with breaches under the Public Health Act, for failing to comply with a direction of the Director of Public Health, by not being at his primary place of residence.

A 25-year-old woman was also charged with drug related matters.

Both will appear in Hobart Magistrates Court in August.

Following the search of the 53-year-old man’s house, members of the Serious Organised Crime Unit and Firearms Services searched another property at Molesworth

Police seized three shot guns from the licenced firearms owner.

The firearms were seized due to his other two firearms being located by police in the possession of a person who did not have a firearms licence and the firearms were not properly stored.

The firearms licence of the owner is now under review.

A 45-year-old man will be charged via summons with various firearms offences.
