POLICE are calling for a member of the public to come forward in relation to a truck rollover on the Arthur Highway last month, which resulted in the death of a Sorell man.
In a statement released today, crash investigators have put a call out to speak to a Murdunna motorist who was travelling near the area of the crash in the early hours of the morning on May 4.
Police believe the driver or occupants of an SUV travelling south on the highway near Murdunna about 5.20am may be able to help confirm the truck’s position on the road just prior to the collision.
The statement said police were confident the driver of the SUV had not committed an offence or caused the crash, but believed they would be able to assist the investigation.

Investigators have determined the SUV did not travel across the Dunalley Bridge, and as
such, believe the driver is a local resident or someone who was staying in the area at the
time.
Gary Walker, 42, was thrown from his vehicle, a truck carrying chickens, on a curve in the road at Eaglehawk Neck on the morning of May 4
His passenger, father Mark Noonan, became trapped in the truck’s cabin when it rolled, but managed to phone for help.
Mr Noonan was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
But Mr Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Acting Sergeant Adam Hall at Crash
Investigation Services on 131 444.
