TASMANIA’S two Liberal MPS have been warned their seats might be in danger if they do not pressure the Prime Minister to overturn his decision on awarding local war hero Teddy Sheean a posthumous Victoria Cross.
Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie has produced a hard-hitting advertisement to lobby Scott Morrison to change his controversial decision to reject a tribunal recommendation to award the Tasmanian Ordinary Seaman the highest military honour.
A mock-up billboard shows a picture of Teddy Sheean on one side with the word hero underneath. On the other side is a photograph of Mr Morrison bearing the word coward.
The billboards will become a reality and be placed at sites around the State if the PM does not change his stance by time the next Federal election is called.

Senator Lambie said Tasmania was represented in Canberra by two Liberal MPs – Bridget Archer in Bass and Gavin Pearce in Braddon.
“Do your bloody jobs because Teddy has done his,” she said.
She called on the pair to “have the guts “ to stand up to the PM.
Last month Mr Pearce said he would write to Mr Morrison urging a rethink on the matter.
Senator Lambie said it was time for tougher talk “behind closed doors” to get the issue sorted.
Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has already promised to award the Tasmanian the VC if Labor wins the next election in 2022.
Tasmanian Liberal MP Guy Barnett has also been beating the drum to have the decision overturned.
Teddy Sheean was on board HMAS Armidale in 1942 when it was sunk by Japanese aircraft. Only 46 of the 149 men aboard survived.
As the ship went down OS Sheean strapped himself to an anti-aircraft gun and held off the enemy planes while his shipmates escaped going down. Sheean went down with the ship still firing the gun.
“This is a fight worth fighting,” Senator Lambie said.
“I say to the two Liberal members – make Mr Morrison overturn this decision or you could have a problem with your future in politics.”
Senator Lambie indicated the billboards would be erected with a different and complimentary message if the two Tasmanians MPs convinced Canberra to change its stance.
The Tasmanian war hero will be immortalised in a feature film about the sinking of the HMAS Armidale which is planned for release in two years time.
