A TASMANIAN taxation specialist has faced court charged with two counts of possessing child exploitation material.
Anthony Llewellyn Van Der Westhuysen, 71, appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Monday but did not yet enter a plea to the charges.
According to court documents, the Geeveston resident has been accused of using the internet to access animated videos and images depicting children involved in sex acts.
He has also been accused of possessing animated images and written stories depicting children involved in sex acts.
The offences allegedly occurred at Geeveston between July 25 and August 11 this year.
Mr Van Der Westhuysen, who is on bail, is expected to return to court on December 8.
According to Mr Van Der Westhuysen’s LinkedIn profile, he is a legally-trained taxation specialist and a former university lecturer.
