A Southern Tasmanian man will front court over alleged drug trafficking, with police recovering a cocaine haul equivalent to 1,100 street deals.
The 34-year-old was arrested and charged on Thursday after police conducted a raid on the man’s vehicle and several residential properties, recovering 110 grams of cocaine and a small quantity of steroids.
Detective Acting Sergeant Sam Storer said officers from the Southern Drugs and Firearms Squad carried out the raid, intercepting a vehicle in the process.
“This quantity of illicit drugs, which could have resulted in 1,100 street deals, has a significant negative impact on our community,” Sgt Storer said.
“Tasmania Police, with the support of the community, will continue to proactively target and prosecute those involved in the illicit drug trade.”
The man was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on September 25.
