A Tasmanian man has been charged with punching a woman repeatedly to the head amid five alleged offences.

Ravenswood man Kayden James Phillips, 28, appeared unrepresented in Launceston Magistrates Court on Wednesday to adjourn all his matters, as it was his first appearance on some of the charges.

Tasmania Police allege Mr Phillips injured property, a Honda Civic, on October 29 last year at Prospect Vale while also assaulting a woman by “punching (her) to the head multiple times”.

On April 20 this year at Prospect Vale, Mr Phillips is alleged by police to have been in possession of a prohibited drug, cocaine, while he is also alleged to have possessed a controlled plant, cannabis, at Prospect on June 10.

Finally, police allege Mr Phillips assaulted a second person, a male, by punching him in the head.

The Mercury has chosen not to name the two complainants of the alleged assaults.

All of Mr Phillips’ matters were adjourned to September 6.
