A woman accused of fatally stabbing a man in Hobart has pleaded not guilty in court.

Annette Eloise Hancock appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning via video-link from the Mary Hutchinson Women’s Prison.

The 53-year-old woman pleaded not guilty to murder.

The murder charge related to an incident that saw police swarm a social housing complex on Harrington St in March.

Tasmania Police said at the time authorities were called to respond to an overnight report of wounding at Walford Terraces.

When they arrived, they found a 41-year-old man dead.

The following day, police charged the 53-year-old woman with murder.

Magistrate Jackie Hartnett has committed Ms Hancock’s matter to the Supreme Court of Tasmania for “directions hearing, and/or trial”.

Ms Hancock will appear in the Supreme Court in Hobart on June 14.
