Disturbing video shows a woman being dragged into a toilet by a man in China.
The clip begins with the woman dashing out of the toilet, with a man ripping off her coat.
She is then dragged back into the toilet by her hair.
The incident took place in Zhongmu, China’s Henan Province in front of a group of men.
At first the witnesses appeared to be shocked by the incident.
Another woman emerged from a stall and attempted to help the woman. Then some of the men sprang into action, kicking down the door and allowing the victim to escape.
At least one man appeared to contact emergency services.
State-run media Global Times confirmed police were investigating the incident.
One man, surnamed Li from Kaifeng city, has been arrested.
Authorities received an emergency call about 11.50pm Saturday on July 16.
The assault took place at the Max Club bar in Zhongmu county, Shangyou, according to local media.
Beijing News reported that the man and woman knew each other and had attended the bar together before the incident. They had been drinking and “had a brawl in the toilet.”
The video has gone viral on social media in China, with many calling for harsh action to be taken against the assailant. The men who witnessed the attack were also heavily criticised for not acting sooner.
Recently, nine men were arrested after brutally attacking women at a restaurant in China.
