NSW driver’s ‘stupid act’ causes near-deadly crash

Two P platers were driving at 110km/h down a busy motorway. What they did next nearly killed them.

Stupid act causes near-deadly accident on motorway

The moment a crash caused a car to spin across a busy NSW motorway has been captured on video.

Shocking dashcam footage was uploaded to the Facebook page of Dashcam Owners Australia on Wednesday.

The driver who captured the video was sent spinning across the Hume Motorway at Ingleburn in NSW at about 4.30pm on Sunday.

“Two red P platers … changing lanes dangerously before swerving into me causing an accident at 110km/h,” the driver claimed.

In the video two utes are seen in the left of screen.

The ute on the far left moves dangerously close to the other ute, eventually appearing to nudge it, causing the ute in the middle to swerve into the other vehicle as it passes on the right.

Facebook users slammed the behaviour, with some theorising that the crash was caused by one driver passing something through the window to his mate.

“Haha they were passing something to each other, didn’t realise wheels were oversized throwing it into yours,” one person wrote.

“I’m sure these type of brain dead fools cause a lot more problems and get away with it,” another said.

“Fortunately, this was captured on dashcam which highlights their mental ability to manage complicated activities like driving on a straight road with ideal weather and good road conditions.

“I feel for the dashcam driver.”

Police confirmed they did attend, and no one was charged.

“The matter was reported to police, who attended, but no further action or investigation will take place as no persons were injured and details were exchanged between drivers, and no one was under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” police said.
