A hospital in regional Western Australia was evacuated overnight as a bushfire threatened the safety of patients.

The order to evacuate the Corrigin Health Service came about 11pm on Tuesday as the fire moved closer to the property.

Staff and patients were taken to an evacuation site, with impacted families contacted to inform them that their loved ones were safe despite the danger.
