IT was a family affair for Hobart brothers Sam and Hayden Mounter, and Angus and Hamish Paynter, at the Australian rowing championships in Sydney yesterday when they claimed gold in the under-17 coxed quad final.
Dubbed the “Bros Who Row”, all hail from the Tasmania University Boat Club, and combined with Jarrod Connolly, of Buckingham Rowing Club, to take coxed quad national title.
It was Sam Mounter’s second gold medal of the regatta, having won the under-17 single scull championship in a 7m33.15s on Thursday, and third gold by rowers from the Uni club.

Georgia Nesbitt added a second gold medal to her tally, having struck gold in the lightweight women’s scull on Thursday, and also claimed a silver medal for stroking crews in both the open women’s and open lightweight women’s quad sculls yesterday.
Buckingham’s Alec Paterson won gold for stroking the open lightweight men’s quad scull to victory.
Hutchins finished fourth in the under-19 men’s coxed eight, and Collegiate’s schoolgirls coxed eight finished fifth, pushing them into the B final.
Lucas Wigston, of The Friends School, goes into the schoolboys single final as the fastest qualifier on the final day of the regatta, which also be the 100th anniversary of the Kings and Queens Cup.
