A SIX goal haul to Jacob Gillbee has helped Lauderdale see off a determined North Hobart as last year’s beaten TSL grand finalists kick started their 2019 campaign on the right note.
The Bombers were jumped early by the bubby Demons before working their way into the match, but finished full of running by booting nine of the last 10 goals to storm to a 16.15 (111) to 8.10 (58) victory at North Hobart Oval.
After trailing by 11 points at quarter-time the visitors lifted in the second stanza, with Gillbee slotting two of his majors, the second of which put his side in front for the first time entering time-on.
Lauderdale threatened to kick clear in the third when Gillbee grabbed his third and Ray Hill kicked his second, but a late major to Colin Garland cut the gap to eight points at the last change.
The Demons had the better of the early stages in the final term, and when Jayden Charlton crumbed a perfect boundary throw in tap from Garland to goal on the run from 20m the scores were locked.

But from there the Bombers put the afterburners on, ramming home five goals in seven minutes and eight unanswered to power away.
Sam Burge pitched in with three goals, while Henry Kerinaiua finished with two.
For North, Garland kicked three, with Tom reeves adding two, both in the first quarter when the Demons came out firing.
