The end of the Olympics has arrived!

The Australian team is all ready set to return home to fanfare after their most successful Games in history. But could they add to their tally on a shortened final day of competition?

There are a handful of events before tonight’s closing ceremony with only a couple of Aussies in action before Kaylee McKeown and Matt Wearn carry the flag into the Stade de France.

Here’s what you can look out for.

SINEAD DIVER, JESS STENSON & GENEVIEVE GREGSON

Women’s marathon, 4pm

Diver, Gregson and Stenson will all be looking to push for the podium in the final athletics event of the Olympics. The selection was highly scrutinised for the event, but can one of the Aussies prove them right by winning the country’s second marathon medal?

OPALS

Women’s basketball bronze medal match, 7.30pm

The USA outclassed the Opals, but they still have a chance to finish their Paris campaign with a bronze. They take on Belgium, the sixth-best team in the world. The Belgians have never won a basketball medal, could they spoil the party in Lauren Jackson’s farewell?

GEORGIA BAKER

Women’s cycling — Omnium, 7pm

Baker will be Australia’s sole participant in the women’s omnium as she looks to finally claim an Olympic medal. Competing at her third Olympics, Baker has had an incredible past two years with three Commonwealth Games gold medals and a second-place finish at the 2023 World Champs as part of the Madison team.

Brought to you by

MATTHEW GLAETZER & MATTHEW RICHARDSON

Men’s cycling — Keirin, from 7.29pm

Richardson already has a medal in Paris, but could he or Glaetzer add to Australia’s medal tally in the velodrome in the men’s keirin? They’ll start with the quarter-finals as they look to progress through the stages to the finals where gold will be on the line.
