With one round to play in the Southern Cricket Association, the top-five is set.
Wellington is clearly the team to beat with an unbeaten record heading into the last game of the season but the chasing pack will be quietly confident of pulling off an upset.
New Norfolk, Claremont and Rokeby all remain in the hunt for the top-three and double chance with results this weekend to decide their fates.
Ahead of the finals series, we’ve crunched the numbers to see which players will be key in shaping the finals race.
Here are three players from each club who could be set to play a big role for their respective club.
Tom Briscoe, New Norfolk
A leading force in New Norfolk’s rise to second on the ladder. He’s taken 26 wickets for the season at an average of 12.31.
Ian Callinan, Rokeby
Callinan dominated the individual awards for the club last season and has enjoyed another standout campaign.
Jade Clay, Claremont
One of the competition’s all-rounders throughout the season so far. Clay has scored almost 400 runs and taken 19 wickets.
Matt Dance, New Norfolk
Dance has been able to influence the game with both bat and ball this season. He has taken six wickets and also scored over 400 runs.
Blake Kemmler, New Norfolk
Has already scored over 580 runs at an average of 58.2 this season and has one century to his name.
Ravindu Mallikarachchige, Weily Park Rockers
Consistently among the wicket takers for his team this season as they have made a strong impression in their first top grade campaign.
Rick Martin, Claremont
Sits among the leading wicket takers in the competition with 23 at an average of 15.87. Martin has also proven to be handy with the bat.
Matt McConnell, Wellington
The competition’s leading wicket taker with 30 scalps to date at an average of just 11.37. Also quite handy with the bat having scored over 200 runs.
Ethan Moore, Rokeby
Moore has over 500 runs for the season so far and has proven he can easily reach triple figures with two centuries so far.
Daniel Muir, Wellington
A consistent performer for the nine games he has been available with over 370 runs to his name.
Tristan Penneyston, Claremont
His side’s leading run scorer this season with over 600 runs in a campaign which has included three centuries.
Blake Waight, Wellington
Has enjoyed a dominant season with the bat todate for his side with over 620 runs to his name at an average of 69.67. His season has included two centuries and a high score of 209 against MacKillop.
Justin Wright, Rokeby
A dominant force throughout the competition this season with bat and ball. Wright is nearing 500 runs and has also taken 16 wickets.
Vishwa Yahampath, Weily Park Rockers
Capable of scoring valuable runs for his side while also taking key wickets.
Bhashitha Yasendra, Weily Park Rockers
The leading wicket taker for his side so far this season with 16 while he’s also proven to be handy with the bat.
