Pacific Youth Rugby Festival regulars Queensland Barbarians have proven there is some sting left in their tail just yet in the Under-18 boys.

The Baa Baas are firming to be in the boys decider after capping off a massive day two with a much-needed 12-7 win over AU Superstars.

Brandon Crawford and Dan Wells both cross the stripe to seal the hard-fought win over the green and gold.

Another team who made the most of their opportunties on day two was Gold Coast Tonga.

Gold Coast under-10 side, in their second season at the annual festival, have shown no signs of fatigue across a fast-paced weekend.

The Mate Ma’a were on fire on day two of the tournament making short work of rivals Queensland Royals 34-0 in the opening match of the day.

Auhia Lolohea and Elijah Barber-Murray continued their impressive strike rate on the try-scoring front while the side showed its versatility with six individual try-scorers.

Queensland Royals and Queensland South Africa’s under-12 sides were forced to settle for a share of the points after a thrilling 12-12 draw, while the AU Superstars under-14 boys bounced back in a big way with a seven-try haul against Queensland South Africa.

The race to finals is well and truly alive as the action at the Pacific Youth Rugby Festival heats up on Saturday.

The tournament, which kicked off on Friday, has already been full of terrific tries, huge hits and memorable individual moments.

The Pacific Youth Rugby Festival will play host to tournament newcomers Queensland Indigenous and Pasifika, Nations United North Queensland and Territorian raiders All Nations Rugby NT.

Meanwhile tournament regulars Queensland Kiwi, AU Superstars and Gold Coast Tonga have expanded their efforts across most ages and divisions.

KommunityTV will exclusively live stream every match across all five fields on each day of the tournament from October 18-20.
