Cygnet have held onto its undefeated start to the year in what is a potential grand final preview, defeating Huonville by 20 points.
In a fierce and finals like contest, the Lions and the Port played out arguably one of the matches of the season with Cygnet running out 10.11 (71) to 7.9 (51) winners.
Lions’ Michael Paul booted four goals with Tristan Barnett kicking his sides remaining three goals while James Zeitzen and Ryan Bradburn kicked two each for Cygnet.
Huonville led by just one point at the first break with the Port kicking four goals in the second to kick away to 13 points.
With the Lions kicking to the goal breeze end at home and the crowd starting to lift the home side, Huonville pegged the game back to just five points, keeping Cygnet goalless in the third term.
But it was Cygnet, who kicked the only two goals of the final quarter, held onto move to the top of the ladder and remain the only undefeated side.

New Norfolk managed to hold off an inspired Hobart who are still chasing its first win Boyer Oval to claim its first win of 2025.
The Tigers pegged it back to within two kicks late in the third quarter but New Norfolk ran away in the final term to claim a 13.18 (96) to 10.9 (69) victory.
In one of the biggest upsets of the season, Dodges Ferry have ended Sorells undefeated streak to start the year.
Sorell came into the match as favourites but struggled against the tackling pressure of the Sharks who ran out 17.10 (112) to 14.9 (93) at Pembroke Park.
Lindisfarne are back on the winners list with a 75 point win over Claremont who managed to lose the second quarter by just one point after not scoring at all in the first term.
The Two Blues piled on 9.4 to nothing in the first quarter with the Magpies kicking 7.2 in the second while Lindisfarne kicked 7.3.
Lindisfarne were too strong in the end, running out 23.9 (147) to 11.6 (72) winners.
The ladder is still as congested as ever with Cygnet remaining the only undefeated side with Sorell, Huonville and Dodges Ferry all on three wins and Lindisfarne winning their second game of the year.
New Norfolk are on the board with Hobart and Claremont still remain winless to start the season.
