It caps off a remarkable turnaround for Hobart who were granted permission to field a stand-alone reserves side in 2023 following a mass exodus of player numbers.

Former captain Dan Gray was appointed coach back in November and will lead the club’s senior side with a reserves coach yet to be publicly announced.

2023 reserves coach Will Perry led the club to three wins last season but he won’t be back in 2024, electing to spend more time with his young family.

Both the SFL and Hobart has been contacted for comment.

In other news, David O’Byrne is set to remain president of the league after being re-elected for the next two years.

O’Byrne filled a casual executive vacancy following Russell Young’s resignation last year.

Young is set to return the the executive team however, elected men’s football director while Christine Carr will be SFL vice president.
