RISING Tasmanian star Riley Meredith has been selected for his first Australia A squad.
Meredith, fresh off a five-wicket haul against a star-studded NSW team in the last Sheffield Shield game, and picking up the wickets of David Warner and Steve Smith in the most recent 50-over match, has been selected in a 12-man squad to take on Pakistan.
The three-day day-night game starts in Perth on November 11.
National selector Trevor Hohns said Meredith was “an exciting young prospect and a wicket-taking option.”
Meredith, 23, is the only Tasmanian selected in the squad to be captained by South Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey.
