‘Enough of this nonsense’: NFL star’s wife slams Pro Bowl snub

Jordan Poyer is one of the NFL’s best defenders but his omission from one of the league’s most prestigious events had his wife fuming.

Rachel Bush is not happy after her husband, Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer, was left off the AFC roster for the 2022 Pro Bowl — the NFL’s all-star game.

Poyer, who leads all safeties with five interceptions this season, was named a third alternate. He could still play in the game — scheduled for February 6 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas — especially if the NFL’s Covid-19 protocols continue to deplete rosters.

“Said it last year, going to say it again lol pro bowl should have the PROS in it,” Bush tweeted on Wednesday, the same day Pro Bowl rosters were announced.

“Enough of this voting nonsense. Jordan and (safety) Micah (Hyde) are the best. Simple facts.

“Can’t argue with stats. FIVE picks. Top graded coverage. Give me a damn break.”

The New York Post reports in a second tweet, Bush wrote, “#1 defence in the NFL and not a single defensive player from the Bills in the dang pro bowl. How is that a pro bowl then?”

Poyer appeared to react to the news in a tweet that included a fire flame and gas tank emojis.

Poyer, 30, has been an elite safety for the Bills since joining the team in 2017, following four seasons with the Browns.

He has 509 tackles (26 for losses), 18 interceptions, 36 passes defended, six forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries and 8.0 sacks in 76 games with the Bills.

Bush also re-shared tweets arguing Poyer’s case that he deserves a 2022 Pro Bowl roster spot.

Poyer’s wife has a long history of defending him, the Bills and her views on things such as Covid-19 vaccines on social media.

In October, Bush took to Twitter to slam the officiating during the Bills’ loss to the Titans. She has also publicly defended Bills players, including wide receiver Cole Beasley, over being “pro-choice” about COVID-19 vaccines.

The only Bills players to make the 2022 Pro Bowl roster are left tackle Dion Dawkins and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Quarterback Josh Allen and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds are first alternates.

The Bills play the New England Patriots on Monday (AEDT).
