The 32-year-old said he wasn’t concerned about the implications his decision may have on the future of his professional football career.
“I don’t play for the money anymore. My family has been taken care of,” Beasley said.
“Fine me if you want. My way of living and my values are more important to me than a dollar.
“I love my teammates and enjoy playing ball because all the outside bs goes out the window in these moments.
“I just want to win the Super Bowl and enjoy these relationships that will be created along the way.
“If I’m forced into retirement, so be it.
“A lot of other NFL players hold my position as well but aren’t in the right place in their careers to be so spoken.”
Beasley copped backlash after expressing his dissatisfaction with the NFL’s new Covid-19 regulations for the pre-season and training camps, which allow fully vaccinated players to train, move around and travel freely but enforces stricter guidelines for unvaccinated athletes.
The veteran said he had spoke to the NFL Players Association — who he labelled “a joke” earlier in the week — about his concerns with the league’s new Covid-19 policies.
“Now we have spoken and are working through it,” he wrote in a separate reply on Twitter.
“From what I’ve been told these are guidelines for pre-season and it’s nothing final.”
