JED Anderson is expected to make his debut in a North Melbourne side bolstered with the return of veteran Daniel Wells.

The Kangaroos tackle Adelaide on Saturday night at Etihad Stadium in a bid to snap a Round 1 losing streak going back six years.

Coach Brad Scott said Anderson, 22, had “done everything” asked of him since arriving at Arden St during the trade period.

“He has added a really dynamic element to our forward half and we’re looking forward to seeing him play,” Scott said.

The lively forward, who played 10 games in three seasons at Hawthorn, collected 10 disposals and laid three tackles in the Roos’ final NAB Challenge match against his former club.

Anderson would join a zippy attack which includes Brent Harvey, Lindsay Thomas and Taylor Garner with Kayne Turner and Robin Nahas nipping at their heels.

Wells is also set to make his long-awaited return to senior football after a series of injuries ruined his 2015 campaign.

“People who think that one player comes into your team and makes all the difference are delusional,” Scott said.

“We have to get away from this concept that one player is going to be the missing piece in the puzzle.

“Our strength is and always has been the strength of the collective.”

Scott said he has made changes to the Roos preparation to try and kickstart the season with a win.

“We’re not stupid enough to say that we’re just going to keep rolling out the same Round 1 preparation that we have in previous years.”

Shaun Higgins (knee) and Robbie Tarrant (back) will be available for selection after sitting out the final NAB Challenge match.
