STUDS AND DUDS: GRAY, SLOANE LEAD ROUND 2 REDEMPTION
THE BAROMETER: WHO’S HOT, WHO’S HURT AFTER ROUND 2
SUPERLADDER: POWER, CROWS SET FOR TITLE FIGHT
Getting the right youngsters is obviously crucial but what if you’re stuck with an under-performing star.
Dan Hannebery’s owners are chief among those sweating bullets after Round 2.
Robbie Gray and Rory Sloane redeemed themselves last weekend while those with Patrick Cripps, Matthew Boyd and Gary Ablett should also be concerned.
Hannebery has the highest breakeven of any player heading into Round 2 needing 223 to retain his price while Josh Gibson is second, needing to score 195.
The only option is to trade for a better performing player.
Clayton Oliver looms as a popular buy this week after 109 and 139 in the opening two rounds, he’ll also generate $230,000 if you were to cash in Hannebery for the Melbourne young gun.
Oliver is the 11th highest scorer after two weeks.
Patrick Dangerfield, Dustin Martin, Ollie Wines, Marc Murphy, Scott Pendlebury, Marcus Bontempelli, Dyson Heppell, Josh J Kennedy, Tom Rockliff and Trent Cotchin make up the top 10.
Sam Powell-Pepper, Dan Butler, Braydon Preuss, Andy Otten, Dan Houston, Ben Ainsworth, Kayne Turner, Mitch Hannan, Tom Stewart and Curtly Hampton are the top scorers priced under 200,000.
