TASMANIA’S under-18 “football factory” has pumped out another ready-made State League senior player and Clarence is cashing in on the talents of young gun Ethan Jackson.

The former Tasmania Devil onballer was one of the reasons Clarence destroyed North Hobart in the midfield at North Hobart Oval.

Jackson, 19, was a prime mover in the midfield, along with his former Devils teammate Oliver Davis, and he kicked two of Clarence’s nine goals, as did Chris Nield.

“Jacko” is rapt to have Davis as his onballer sidekick.

“Ollie’s a little star,” Jackson said.

“He’s one of the cleanest players in the competition.

“He finds a lot of the footy. He uses it well. We definitely try to get something going there in the middle, using each other, and bring players around us onto the game.”

Clarence is shaping as a finals contender this season despite the series being chopped from a top five to a final four.

“I’ve played in one TSL final. That was for Launceston in 2018, so it would be great to play finals again,” Jackson said.

“It’s a good brand of footy we’ve got going on here at the Roos.

“We’ve got a young team but we’re starting to come together and play the way we are wanting to play.

“It’s just bringing four quarters of football each week.”
