DALE Hall will be the proudest father in Tasmania on Sunday when his son Aaron runs on to Aurora Stadium to play for the Gold Coast Suns.

Dale, 46, has packed his van and will make the road trip with his family from Mt Rumney to Launceston to see Aaron and the Suns take on Hawthorn.

MORE: HERE COMES THE SUN

It will be the first time Aaron, who has been at the Gold Coast for five years, has played for the Suns on home soil.

“This is our third year in a row doing the road trip and luckily this time he’s going to play,” Dale said.

He said it was hard to contain the excitement.

“It’s a dream come true for him. He’s wanted to play AFL footy since he was eight years old.”

Dale was a gun goal kicker in his day. A premiership player for Hobart Football Club in 1990, he was drafted by the Sydney Swans and played six reserves games and three Ansett Cup games in the seniors.

“Aaron’s done better things than his father,” Dale said.
