Gold Coast housing prices skyrocket

A historic northern NSW pub is on the market.

The Tumbulgum Tavern, built in the 19th century, is being sold by Ray White Commercial Burleigh Group.

Ryan Langham and Nathan Huxham, of Ray White, said its owners are keen to sell the property for up to 30 per cent below a $10m price tag offered in recent years.

“It doesn’t get any more laid back than the Tumby Pub,” Mr Langham said.

“It’s your classic country watering hole where you’d know all the regulars, and feel part of

the community.

“It’s been on the market, quietly, for several years but the vendors are now particularly

motivated to part ways with it, so now’s your chance to snap it up.

“The Tweed area is still a bit of a ‘best kept secret’ but word is starting to spread about

just how liveable it is – 20 minutes back to the Gold Coast, 45 minutes down to Byron Bay.

“The Tumby Pub would be a very astute purchase.”

The pub, originally known as the Metropolitan Hotel was built in 1887 and is full of memorabilia celebrating the Northern Rivers region and its long history.
