What’s open: Easter weekend trading in Darwin, Alice Springs and Katherine

With the Easter long weekend underway, major stores have revealed their trading hours for customers across the Northern Territory.

As location times may vary, residents should check the times of their local stores.

Woolworths

All stores across the NT will be closed on Good Friday, but will trade on Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Most stores will be trading between the hours of 7am-9pm on Saturday, and 8am-8pm on Sunday and Monday.

Some stores, including Darwin City, Katherine and Nightcliff, will be open to 10pm on Saturday.

Alice Springs will trade until 7pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The Gove store in Nhulunbuy will be open from 8am-8pm Saturday, 9am-5pm Saturday, and 8am-5pm Sunday.

Coles

All Coles stores in the Northern Territory will be closed on Good Friday.

Stores in Darwin will trade from 8am-8pm across the long weekend, while the Alice Springs store will trade from 8am-7pm.

IGA

Locals are advised to check times with their local stores.

Casuarina Square shopping centre

The largest shopping centre in the NT will be closed on Good Friday, but will trade from 9am-5pm on Saturday, and 10am-3pm on Sunday and Monday.

Palmerston shopping centre

Palmerston Shopping centre is closed on Good Friday, but open Saturday from 9am-5pm, and 10am-2pm on Sunday and Monday.

Gateway Shopping Centre

Palmerston shoppers looking to pop into Gateway should note the centre is closed for Good Friday. However, it will be open 9am to 5pm on Saturday, and open 10am to 3pm Easter Sunday and on Monday.

Petrol stations

Some petrol stations across the NT will be open on Good Friday, however hours may vary.

Locals should check at their local petrol station.

Liquor stores

All Liquorland and Vintage Cellar stores will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but will open on Saturday.

Liquorland stores will remain closed for Monday, while Vintage Cellar will open.

BWS will close all stores for Good Friday, but be open on Saturday and Monday.

Select BWS stores will be open on Sunday, including the Cavenagh Drive location.

Bunnings

Bunnings Darwin will be closed on Good Friday.

The store will open 7am-5pm on Saturday, and 9am-5pm on Sunday and Monday.

Cinemas

For those NT residents looking to catch a movie over the long weekend, check your local cinema’s website for showtimes.
