Travis Scott gifts Darwin boy Rhy Miller his sunglasses at Sydney concert

A 10-year-old Darwin boy has been gifted one of US rapper Travis Scott’s personal belongings, after he was invited up on-stage. See the video.

A 10-year-old Darwin boy has returned home from a Travis Scott concert with the US rapper’s sunnies after he was invited on-stage in front of a raucous crowd.

Last week, Michelle Fettes took her son Rhy, 10, and daughter Honey, 15, to Sydney to catch the global star in action.

Ms Fettes said her children, who are “huge rap and hip hop” music fans, were keen to get a glimpse of the superstar when they got more than they bargained for.

“(Scott) came straight for where we seated and pointed to my son,” she said.

“The security guards pulled him out and he’s gone up on stage with him alongside another four people.”

For three songs, Rhy partied alongside Scott in front of tens of thousands of fans.

It was during one of the tracks that Rhy received the souvenir of a lifetime.

“During one of the songs Travis Scott actually put his own sunglasses on Rhy,” Ms Fettes said.

“So Rhy was wearing them for the rest of the time on stage.”

The courteous young man tried to return to the sunnies to their rightful owner, but Scott insisted the young Territorian keep them.

“He was tapping Travis and trying to hand his sunnies back but Scott said ‘No you can keep them’”.

The memento has since been treated as a priceless item.

“The sunnies stayed in my bag on the flight home – they were not going in his suitcase; he was too scared in case they got lost,” Ms Fettes said.

“They’ve been sitting in his bedroom ever since, and his friends keep asking him to take them to school, but again he’s too scared in case they get broken.”

Ms Fettes’ decision to bring her children to the concert was admired by many in attendance, who told Rhy and Honey they “have the best mum in the world”.

“I wasn’t a huge fan before – I knew his songs, but his concert was amazing,” Ms Fettes said.

“The way he can hype up the crowd is just unbelievable.”

At age 10, it’s fair to say Rhy has set a pretty high benchmark for himself, concert wise.

“It’s probably the best concert we’ve been to – we like Bass in the Grass because we’re huge music fans and I’ve been to a lot of concerts,” Ms Fettes said.

“But obviously this is one we’ll remember for a long time.”
