Queensland emergency services respond to gas leak in Townsville

A woman has been transported to Townsville hospital following reports of a gas leak at a business in Burdell. Here’s the latest.

Emergency services responded to reports of a gas leak in Burdell on Saturday afternoon.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said they had one crew on site who were managing the area after they received reports at 1pm of a refrigerator emitting gas at a business on the corner of Market Street and Nexus Drive.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance said paramedics were assessing one woman for injuries.

The woman was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.
