Palm Island death: Man faces murder (domestic violence) charges after woman killed
Queensland Police have charged a man with murder following the death of a 39-year-old woman known to him on Palm Island earlier this month.

Queensland Police have charged a man over the death of a 39-year-old woman on Palm Island earlier this month.
After extensive investigations into the death it’s alleged emergency services were called to a residence on Clump Road on September 1, following reports the woman had sustained a life-threatening head injury.
She was flown to the Townsville University Hospital for treatment, but passed away on September 3 from her injuries.
Officers arrested and charged a 36-year-old Palm Island man on September 16 with murder (domestic violence offence).
It is alleged the pair were known to each other.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on November 5.
Initial reports from Queensland Police on September 6 stated the sudden death, but it was not disclosed as domestic violence at the time.
