HOMETOWN heroes of music and performance will treat Tasmanians to a weekend packed with fun and celebration at Launceston’s Prince’s Square from November 27-29.

Junction Arts Festival has unveiled the full program for Hometown – its replacement event for 2020 after September’s decade anniversary edition was postponed to next year.

The program features some of the state’s finest musicians, artists and performers spread over three days and four sessions.

Among the musicians will be the soulful Clair Anne Taylor, rootsy Raccoon Dog, Sri Lankan band Yugen, awarded Bec Stevens, psychedelic rockers Sundaze, the raucous Lawless Quartet, upbeat hip hop and RnB group Lazer Baby and rock and soul favourites The Bad Dad Orchestra.

Festival favourites Team Textiles return to present Masked Family Portraits with a unique 2020 twist – a combination of face mask embellishment and improvised mask making.

Mudlark will present a series of short plays written, designed and performed in 24 hours.

Tasdance’s community project MUSTER will see 100 locals come together for a contemporary linedancing performance in the heart of Prince’s Square.

Dance studio Stompin will premiere a series of dance films created by young Tasmanian artists.

Food vans, wine and spirits will be at hand for foodies and the festival had teamed up with Moo Brew to create Junction’s own lager.

Northern Children’s Network will be hosting hands on workshops for children.

Children under 12 can attend for free but will still require a ticket for COVID safety reasons. Sessions include Friday evening from 4-11pm, Saturday from 11am-4pm and 5-11pm and Sunday evening from 11am-5pm.

Tickets are available at www.junctionartsfestival.com.au.
