Two hospitalised after car rollover on Bass Highway: One in a serious condition

Two people have been transported to the Launceston General Hospital – one in a serious condition – after a car rolled on the Bass Highway at Prospect.

TWO people have been taken to hospital after a car rolled on the Bass Highway on Thursday afternoon.

Police remained on the scene about 4pm – more than hour after the incident was first reported.

A Tasmania Police spokesperson said one person was trapped in the vehicle that rolled and eastbound traffic was reduced to one lane between Travellers Rest and Prospect.

They said one of the people taken to hospital was in a serious condition.

Police remained at the scene for almost two hours and motorists were asked to avoid the area until the scene was cleared about 4.30pm.
