EFFORTS to recover the body of Henty Gold Mine worker Cameron Goss are continuing, as limited operations resume at the mine.

Mr Goss, 44, of Queenstown, was killed when the earth beneath his loader collapsed in the early hours of January 23.

An update on the recovery said progress was being made, with remotely operated machines being used in the “extremely complex” operation.

PYBAR chief executive officer Brendan Rouse said heavy lift winching gear had been successful in securing and lifting the loader from its position.

A remotely operated mini robotic excavator was clearing excess rock from around the loader.

“Our number one priority and focus is on safely recovering Cameron,” Mr Rouse said yesterday.

“The dedication and commitment of the team here at Henty has been truly inspiring.

“The safety of the recovery team is of paramount importance and as such the recovery has had to progress slower than we had hoped.’’
