Invermay man accused of producing child exploitation material to face trial

A man has pleaded not guilty to seven charges relating to the production of child exploitation material and possession of child abuse material.

AN Invermay man has been committed for trial in the Supreme Court in Launceston for the production of child exploitation material and possession of child abuse material.

The 42-year-old on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to several charges.

They included using a carriage service for child abuse material, production of child exploitation material and five counts of possession of child abuse material.

Police have alleged the indictable crimes occurred between October 20, 2018 and November 21, 2019.

Two further counts of possession of bestiality product were adjourned without plea to be dealt with in the Launceston Magistrates Court pending the result of the Supreme Court trial.

The man’s bail was continued. He will appear in the Supreme Court in Launceston on April 27.
