Convicted conman arrested after raid on Tasmanian home

CONVICTED conman Kane Scott Dallow was arrested yesterday morning after police raided his northern Tasmanian home.

A police spokesman confirmed the 38-year-old from Legana was arrested and charged with a large number of offences after a search and seizures were carried out at his home.

The charges included two counts of stealing, two counts of forgery, two counts of uttering, six counts of personation, 10 counts of attempting fraud on a creditor and five counts of fraud on a creditor.

Mr Dallow appeared in Launceston Magistrates Court in custody yesterday afternoon.

Police have alleged the two counts of stealing were in relation to the thefts of two driver’s licences and a passport, which Mr Dallow allegedly used to apply for credit cards from several different financial institutions including ANZ, American Express, Macquarie Bank, National Australia Bank, HSBC and Latitude Finance.

Police have also alleged Mr Dallow used the identities of four Tasmanians on various occasions to apply for credit cards and also forged government documents, bank statements and a Tasmania Police email.

The offences were alleged to have occurred between early 2018 and March this year.

Magistrate Simon Brown yesterday granted Mr Dallow bail.

He adjourned the complaints to July 23 when it is expected he will be directed to enter pleas.
