Fast, tasty, steamy and savoury - dumplings hold a special place in our foodie hearts. As the Mercury’s Best of Tassie series continues we are searching for the state’s most mouth-watering dumplings.
We were inundated with dozens of nominations when we put the call out to find out where serves up the most delicious dish and we’ve narrowed it down to a shortlist of your favourites.
Pot Sticker on Hobart’s Collins Street received multiple nominations with delighted customers describing their dumplings as delicious and fresh.
“We come to Hobart annually and in one week visit Pot Sticker Collins St about 8 times in that time. The best dumplings by a country mile.” gushed tourist Alistair Hales.
Sandy Bay’s Me Wah was another top contender that offer an “explosion of flavour” in every bite.
“Their dumplings are unctuous and delicate, with some of them filled with both solid filling and with tasty liquid broth,” said reader Leo Low.
