TASSIE’S favourite pub feed has been revealed.
Hundreds of votes were cast to find out Tasmania’s best pub lunch, with one beloved Hobart venue taking out the top spot.
With 12 per cent of votes, Tom McHugo’s has been crowned by Mercury readers as the best in Tassie.
Out of hundreds of votes, beloved Hobart pub Tom McHugo’s took out the top spot.
Co-owners Whitney Ball and Tom Westcott said from day one they had operated a daily menu with seasonal produce sourced directly from local farmers.
“We believe this is the future of our food system, and without the support from our Tasmanian community we wouldn’t be here today,” they said.
“It means a great deal to us that our food is appreciated for being of quality and of course — delicious! Bust most importantly, for the ethical considerations in which our menu is centred around at Tom McHugo’s.
“So thank you!”
The voting also revealed other Tassie pubs with large followings.
Hobart’s Shamrock Hotel scored 11 per cent of votes, with 10 per cent going to Cambridge’s The Horseshoe Inn.
Tying for fourth place with six per cent of votes each were the Longley International Hotel, New Sydney Hotel and Hotel Bruny.
Salamanca’s The Whaler scored five per cent of votes.

Tassie’s Best Cosmetic Injector Clinics
A bumper 26 cosmetic injectors made the shortlist of where Tasmanians go to plump up their pouts or smooth out wrinkles.
The winners were:
- 1st place: Sanctum Medical, Hobart
- 2nd: Eden Cosmetic Therapies, Rosny
- 3rd: Lavada Cosmetic Clinic, North Hobart
- 4th: Natural Aesthetics by Nicky
- 5th: Laserway on Davey
Tassie’s Best Barber
With 20 barbers making the cut for the shortlist for Tasmania’s Best Barber, it was stiff competition.
In fact, the winner of the poll was a tie — with Hobart barbers Monks & Co and Paradise Lost receiving equal votes to be joint winners of the Best Barber.
Bob’s Your Uncle followed close behind in second place, with third place also a tie between Barber King and The Liverpool Street Barber Shop.
