TASMANIAN Rosehaven star Luke McGregor is looking forward to the show’s season three premiere in Hobart tonight so much that he might even pluck up the courage to watch it in the theatre this time.
The third season of the hit ABC TV comedy, which was filmed in Tasmania over seven weeks from June last year, will premiere at the State Cinema at North Hobart tonight.
“The last two times we’ve done it, I stayed outside the theatre and didn’t watch the show with the crowd because I was too paranoid to hear them not laugh at a joke,” McGregor told the Mercury.

“But this year, I might, and I might need some wine to do it, but I’m going to try to actually watch it with the crowd.
“With stand-up, if something’s not getting a laugh, you just change course, but with the TV shows … there’s nothing else you can do if someone doesn’t laugh at something — it’s like ‘Well, too late’, [but] I’ve got to do it at least once.”
Rosehaven follows the story of two friends and unlikely real estate agents, Daniel (McGregor) and Emma (Celia Pacquola).
Series three finds the best friends and workmates facing big changes in their personal lives, and a real estate opportunity that threatens to divide the whole town.
The third season was filmed at locations including Oatlands, Geeveston, New Norfolk, Longley, Seven Mile Beach, Mountain River, Brighton, and Chigwell.
McGregor said the film crew was warmly received.
“I think because we’ve done two seasons, people know that we’re not making fun of them, so they were much more welcoming when we film in their area,” he said.
Pacquola said Rosehaven went to another level in season three.
“I think it’s everything that it was, and a little bit stronger,” Pacquola said.
“It feels a bit more assured, everyone’s a bit more relaxed, we’re a bit more confident to take a few more risks.”
