Tasmania Police have confirmed a woman has died following a crash on a rural road.
A Ford Range and Mazda 2 collided head on along Forth Rd near the intersection of Cutts Rd in Don near Devonport some time before 4.40pm on Tuesday.
Police and emergency services rushed to the scene of the two-vehicle crash, but a 62-year-old passenger of the Mazda 2 didn’t survive.
The drivers of both ve`hicles were taken to the North West Regional Hospital with non life threatening injuries for assessment and treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation in an attempt to determine the cause of the crash.
“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones at this difficult time,” Tasmania Police said.
The incident brings the 2022 road fatality toll to seven.

Emergency Services are on the site of a two-car crash in North West Tasmania.
The cars collided on the corner of Forth Rd and Cutts Rd in Don near Devonport some time before 4.40pm on Tuesday.
Tasmania Police are expected to release more information on the collision soon, with early reports indicating the crash was serious.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the immediate area in order to facilitate the safe movement of emergency services,” police said.
Multi-car crash: Brooker at standstill

Traffic on a major highway in Hobart is in peak-hour chaos.
Tasmania Police issued a statement at 6.13pm saying emergency services and police were attending a Brooker Hwy crash involving several vehicles at New Town.
“South bound lanes between Risdon Road and Domain Highway are affected whilst the scene is being cleared,” Tasmania Police said.
“Motorists are asked to avoid the area where possible and consider alternative routes.”
