A MONTH after bushfires in the region forced its cancellation, the Huon Blues and Roots Festival is back with a new date, a new cause, and the same headline act.
Tex Perkins & The Fat Rubber Band has recommitted to the festival, which will now be a fundraiser for Tasmanian volunteer firefighters, and will be held at Home Hill Winery, Ranelagh, on Saturday, April 13.

The Huon Blues & Roots Festival was originally scheduled for Sunday, February 3, but had to be cancelled because of safety concerns in the fire-ravaged region.
The original line-up included Jeff Martin, Jeff Lang, the Pierce Brothers, Pete Cornelius and Monique Brumby.
Lang, the Pierce Brothers, and Brumby are all set to play at the rescheduled gig, along with MT Blues.
$10 from each ticket sold will go towards new equipment for volunteer firefighters.
