THE verdict is in for the Mercuryreaders’ Best Family GP in Tasmania, with the winning doctor feeling “humbled” and “privileged” to take the top spot.
Some 200 doctors were nominated by our readers for the gong, but none received more votes than popular Battery Point Medical general practitioner Dr Scott Macrossan.
The former University of Tasmania student said he was “so very humbled” to win the award.
“I’m so grateful to my wonderful patients for their amazing generosity and kindness in voting for me,” Dr Macrossan said.
“It is such a privilege to be entrusted to care for my patients and their families.
“I never take that privilege for granted.”
Dr Macrossan said the “wonderful” receptionists and doctors at Battery Point Medical practice were “buzzing” with the news of the win.
“The COVID-19 situation has certainly been challenging however with the kindness and respect our patients have shown to each other we have managed social distancing without difficulty,” he said.
Dr Macrossan said through tough times, the Battery Point crew felt more like a family than a medical practice.
