THE destruction wrought by the Riveaux Road bushfires has been revealed in new photos captured by the Mercury and footage from the ABC.
The new aerial images and video reveal the devastating loss of some homes and just how close the blaze came to destroying more properties in the Huon Valley — particularly in areas near Glen Huon, Geeveston, Castle Forbes Bay and Judbury.
The images – in our mega gallery below – show damage at the Southwood veneer mill, the Tahune Airwalk and rugged wilderness areas.
