A MAN will appear in court on charges that he held-up a suburban McDonald’s restaurant last night.
Detective Inspector Craig Joel of Tasmania Police said a 49-year-old man from Claremont had been arrested last night after he allegedly produced a knife and demanded money from staff at the McDonalds restaurant in Moonah.
“The man was taken into custody at the restaurant without incident,” Detective Inspector Joel said. “None of the staff or attending police were injured.”
Detective Inspector Joel said police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a white Holden Commodore parked in Maxwell St, Moonah, around 10.30pm on Saturday night, or the occupant of that vehicle.
“The man was interviewed by detectives late last night and he was charged with armed robbery. He will appear in an out-of-hours session in the Hobart Magistrate’s Court.”
