Streaker shocks crowds at North Hobart Oval on grand final day

A rogue streaker has astounded onlookers at North Hobart during the SFL reserves grand final on the weekend – with the league saying it was a “disappointing” stunt to pull.

The video was posted to Facebook on September 16 and was captioned “1000 bucks is 1000 bucks”.

The 38-second-long video shows a brunette man run onto the oval as the game between Dodges Ferry and Cygnet goes on, before removing his underwear.

He begins running as some people laugh and cackle at the sight – but falls over seconds later.

Not put off by his fall, the man gets back up and continues to run across the oval, lifting both hands up and pointing his fingers as he does.

He falls over for the second time, moments later.

The 38-second-long video has so far amassed about 68k views and more than 274 shares on the social media site.

“I can’t breathe”, one commenter said, while another responded saying “Can tell it’s [Tasmania] simply because the fella is white as a ghost haunting the oval”.

“F... I’ll pay his fine ha ha ha ha”, another wrote.

Others, however, weren’t so impressed:

“What a dumb f..., clearly a single digit IQ,” a user wrote.

Tasmania Police in response to questions from the Mercury as to whether they would be investigating the public display said they had not received a formal complaint in relation to the matter.

Meanwhile, an SFL spokesperson said the body “does not condone” the behaviour.

“Saturday’s Grand Final Day was a wonderful showcase of our game, and it was disappointing to have an act like this detract from an otherwise fantastic day,” the spokesperson said.

“The SFL will co-operate with authorities in relation to this incident and will make no further comment at this time.”
