A 24-hour service station, with two major fast food outlets attached to it, could be built next to the Glebe Hill Village.

A development application is currently being advertised for the build across 9, 11 and 13 Commerce Drive, Howrah.

The three lots would be consolidated into one.

The two fast food outlets planned for the site are a 24 hour Hungry Jacks and a KFC.

The land is zoned as general business and the proposed development is located next to the Glebe Hill Shopping Centre and is adjacent to a residential subdivision.

The Hungry Jacks will be 295 square metres and the KFC will be built across 275 square metres.

Each store will include a drive-through, and the Hungry Jacks one will also be available 24/7.

The KFC is expected to operate between 10am and 10pm, and there could be late night trading from Thursdays to Saturdays.

The plans say the service station is expected to be run by Caltex, and will include a small convenience store with takeaway.

The plans show space for 35 on-site car spaces, three of which would be disability accessible.

A traffic assessment suggests the build of the service station and fast food outlets will increase peak hour morning traffic by 120 trips and peak hour evening traffic by 290 trips.

The plans are available for viewing on the Clarence Council website until April 30.
