The hunt for Hobart’s $23 million lottery winner is continuing, with entrants urged to “check the really obvious places” as the prize remains unclaimed.

THE hunt for Hobart’s $23 million lottery winner is continuing, with entrants urged to “check the really obvious places” as the prize remains unclaimed.

The division one-winning Tasmanian entry in Tuesday night’s draw was unregistered, meaning lottery officials have no way to contact the ticketholder and must wait for them to check their own ticket.

The ticket, now worth $23,333,333.34, was bought at Hobart City Lotto in the Wellington Centre.

The Lott spokesman Matt Hart said most people claimed their division-one prizes within a week or two of the draw being held.

“We would love to unite them with it sooner rather than later, that’s for sure” Mr Hart said.

“We would really encourage everyone to check the really obvious places first for their Oz Lotto ticket, because people who have come forward, days, weeks, months after the draw with a winning ticket usually tell us it was hiding in plain sight the whole time.

“It was literally in the wallet or the purse, in the car glove box, or even stuck on the fridge staring at them.”

It is the second biggest lottery prize to ever land in Tasmania.

The biggest win in the state’s history was $30 million, picked up in Sorell last September.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1310 were 12, 28, 24, 29, 9, 18 and 25. The supplementary numbers were 13 and 31.
